Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship: Complex Fluids Theory

* An EPSRC-funded post-doctoral research fellowship is available for
  a theoretician to study flow-induced phase transitions and shear
  banding in complex fluids, incorporating polymers, surfactants,
  and liquid crystals.  The successful candidate will study the basic
  physics of these issues through primarily analytic techniques, although
  computation may be used as needed, depending on the interests and
  the skills of the candidate.  For more information on the work see

* Applicants should have a PhD and a working knowledge of statistical
  mechanics and hydrodynamics, and research experience in theories of
  soft condensed matter is preferred.

* The Leeds Polymer & Complex Fluids group has a wide range of theoretical
  and experimental interests, and  has contacts with academic and
  industrial groups abroad and in the UK.

* Salary will be on the scale for Research Staff Grade 1A (16,268-24,479
  GPB) according to qualifications and relevant experience.
