Hints for HW 11
General Advice:
The mathematical skills you need for this problem set include algebra,
complex numbers, real and imaginary parts of complex numbers,
and complex conjugate.
Hints on specific problems:
- Problem 3-9: If you have an equation x+iy=6+i7, it is solved by
x=6 and y=7. Follow the same kind of logic to work on this problem.
- Problem 3-10: It is just math.
- Problem 3-12 Recall what happens in even potentials.
- Problem 3-17 You should find at least four problems.
- Problem 3-18 Be sure to think of special cases, and different
kinds of examples. Some answers at the back of the book are incorrect.
