Lectures
We will have two lectures (M and F); the 2-hour class on Wednesday will
be divided into a lecture followed by a lab. Lectures will be concentrated
on the material that you do not understand from the text.
Labs
The labs will have handouts, but the work should be done in lab notebooks.
Any type of notebook is OK – ones with bound pages (not rings) are better.
The books will be collected after every lab and graded. If it is clear
what you did, how you did it and what the results were, I don’t care what
kind of format you use. I will be easy on the grading for the first few
labs so you get an idea of what this means. There will be 13 labs - the
lowest lab grade will be dropped. This is meant to take care of any absences.
More than one missed lab will only be excused with a note from the dean
or a doctor. The labs will be worth 20% of your final grade.
